About

Originally from Houston, Texas, I am a photographer and writer based in Washington, D.C. I first developed an interest in photography as a child when my parents gave me my first camera, a Kodak EasyShare CX7300. From snaps of family and friends, this interest grew into a love when I won a scholarship that allowed me to buy my first “real” camera. I enjoyed making photos around Europe during my semester abroad in Bamberg. More recently I have experimented with film and enjoy the slower pace and intentionality of the form.

My writing covers cultural commentary, international affairs, and political movements in the United States and abroad. While these areas of interest diverge from the artistic side of my photographic work, the experience as a researcher on international affairs has allowed me to develop skills as a documentary photographer alongside my writing.

When not writing or making pictures, I enjoy playing the saxophone, reading, and dancing Argentine tango.
